U.S.S Hansford (APA-106)
As part of Task Force 51, disembarked 5th Division Marines who stormed the beaches during the initial assault on Iwo Jima, 19 Feb 1945. Supposedly, the second battle flag raised on Iwo came from the U.S.S. Hansford.
Was in Tokyo Bay, 2 Sept 1945, for the Surrender Ceremony.
